The "trick" is to kill all 4 Banners quickly and then Damage him more until he summons the next set. I think the banner summon has a cooldown of maybe 10 or 20 seconds, not sure. So you have to kill all Banners and hit him a while within this timeframe. It's basically a DPS check mechanic.
