What are XUR invitations?
Each week, Xur will bring a new Invitation of the Nine to purchase. Buying the invitation will set you on a trip around the solar system. Completing it will reward you with a powerful piece of gear and new story information.
What is trials of the nine?
The Trials of the Nine, replacing the old Trials of Osiris, is a weekly challenge that has you attempt to win seven matches in a row of a specific featured Crucible mode. This time, your Power level doesn't matter, meaning you can equip whichever weapons and armour you think will be more advantageous.
Why did Bungie remove trials?
Bungie has temporarily removed Trials of Osiris from Destiny 2: Season of the Chosen due to an issue with win-trading. The brutal-yet-satisfying (when not faced with cheaters) PvP event has always been hit or miss with players, but now it's a miss for all players because it has been removed from the game entirely.
